Cultivating Excellence
What does it mean to be the best possible therapist? To facilitate real change and help individuals accomplish their goals in therapy. In The Heart and Soul of Change, Duncan describes this process and refers to these highly effective clinicians as “SuperShrinks.” He highlights the deliberate practices that allow therapists to cultivate the skills needed to become such transformative practitioners. My clinical supervision is designed to support therapists in developing these skills—and in evolving into the kind of therapist who consistently fosters meaningful, lasting change.
My Story
When I first sought clinical supervision during my journey toward licensure, I was filled with excitement. I imagined supervision as a place where I could take everything I’d learned in graduate school and refine it—level it up—under the guidance of someone who truly knew how to mentor and shape growth. And while I had wonderful supervisors who taught me so much, I never quite found the depth of mentorship and facilitation I was longing for.
After years in the field—running a successful private practice, teaching, and offering lectures—I chose to become a clinical supervisor myself. I wanted to create the kind of space I had always hoped for: one where therapists who are passionate about excellence can combine their existing skills with a structured, guided process to cultivate real mastery.
My goal is for every supervisee to leave our sessions inspired, equipped for the next step, and on their way to becoming a clinician who blends strong clinical skill with intuitive knowing—someone confident in their ability to go exactly where they want to go in this work.
